Hamster advice! HELP!?

My hamster was stuck in his tube this morning, I pulled him out quickly and his body was cold and slightly stiff. And his eyes were slightly opened. He has had a little cold for a month or two now so I figured he was on his way out :( and I put him in a box. Later I checked the box and he was less stiff. Is this just because he was warmer? Or is he hibernating? The box is starting to smell a little bit so does that mean he's dead? I dont want to burry him if he's still alive! Help please! :'(Hamster advice! HELP!?
normally u can tell what an animal is dead or aliveHamster advice! HELP!?
Hamsters don't get 'little colds', they get respiratory infections that are life-threatening.

You should have taken him to a vet. Is your hamster breathing? If he is, get him to a vet.
A 'little cold' to a hamster could be life threatening, especially if they have been sick for long periods of time. If you are concerened, take it to the vet.

Hamsters do not hibernate. They go into a certain state - and become 'torpid' (known as torpor) below certain temperatures. When your hamster is in this state, it will appear lifeless/dead. It is unlikely it will respond to much. When a hamster is torpid you may notice is breathing very slowly or it's whiskers twitching. Maybe this was what was wrong with your hamster? If you think it might be, wake up your hamster if you can, and then put it's cage in a warmer room to bring it back to it's normal state.
Sounds like you need the help of a Vet here. I've never seen a hamster do that, go cold %26amp; stiff but it doesn't sound good I'm sorry to say.

The age of your Hamster can be a factor. Is he/she getting on or is he/she still quit young? this can be a major factor.

The best thing to do is to get your Hamster to the Vet %26amp; get him/her check out. I've included a link to a site i've found to be very useful with information about Hamster care.

Lots of luck %26amp; I hope your little fury friend is OK
