I'm looking for some info on my options in getting a student loan. I have a couple loans through FAFSA, but I need more money than they are willing to give me.
What are some good lenders to approach about this? Any lenders to stay away from? Any recommendations on lenders?
Please help! thanks :)Need Student Loan Advice! Help!?
Words of caution.
Private student loans are evil and should be avoided at all costs. Not only will you have a sub-prime interest rate, you'll need a solid credit cosigner. If something were to happen to you... you became disabled or died, lost your job, etc. your cosigner would be responsible for paying those loans off.
Consider a cheaper school. Federal loans have limits on them for a reason... to protect YOU. Search the questions here and you run across tons of folks who borrowed more than they should of via private loans and now cant afford to pay them back.

You need to first contact your iniversty most universities have very strict guidelines regarding who and how you can get loan money, most require you to sit in a class for a hour in order for you to understand what a loan is and how it works.
they will give you the run down on the costs of the loan, how much their fees are and customer serivce for any loan.

Hello,
Two things about loans:
1) Unless you have two years of solid credit you will need a co-signer for your loans.
2) Watch how much you take, when you graudate you could be paying more than you afford.... be careful (don't overlook this advice).
