I need some advice.... HELP! Women, please.?

So, i am 12, I started my period when i was 10. Early, i know. But i am going to do swimming this year, and i'm going to ask my mother this too, but i was hoping maybe you'd help me also.

I know i have to wear a tampon, and does it hurt?

Can it go up into my uterus?

And maybe, if you want to, you could tell me how to insert a tampon... Thank you so much. This means alot! :)I need some advice.... HELP! Women, please.?
It doesn't hurt if you insert it in right, and also here's how to inset one.

Tampons have come a long way in the last two decades, so it's important that you buy the perfect tampon for your body. Tampons come in all shapes, sizes and insertion textures, but for your first time, you should start with the smallest size on the market.

Step2Choose a day during the heaviest point of your flow to try a tampon for the first time. This will allow the tampon to glide more easily into the vaginal canal.

Step3Sit, stand or squat so that your legs are slightly spread. It is important to relax when your inserting a tampon, so make sure your are in a comfortable position and that you're not straining your vaginal muscles.

Step4Hold the tampon like a pencil and place it at the vaginal opening at the back of the labia (the flaps of skin just in front of the vaginal canal). You might need a mirror to better see what you're doing. Insert the tampon by pushing gently toward the small of your back. Do not push directly up, the vaginal canal runs at a diagonal, so pushing up won't allow the tampon to move into place.

Step5Push the tube until the first, outer tube (this is the larger of the two tubes), is almost all the way inside you. Now, use your index finger to push the smaller, inner tube (the smaller of the two), through the larger tube until the smaller tube is all the way inside the larger tube.

Step6Now that the tampon has moved into the vaginal canal, you can remove both tubes by clasping the tube between your middle finger and thumb. Make sure the string is visible and hanging from the vaginal opening.

Step7Once you've removed the applicator, you shouldn't feel anything. If it is painful or even a little bit uncomfortable, the tampon hasn't been inserted correctly and you should remove it and try again.

Step8It may take more than one try to get the tampon in the right place, so don't get frustrated. If you've tried several times to no avail, take a break and allow your muscles to relax. If your feeling sore or irritated, stop and try again another day.

Most girls try tampons when they want to go swimming. It doesn't matter that you are a bit younger as they make them in all sizes.

Tampons do not hurt , you cannot even feel them if they are in properly which is really great because you can forget you have your period. They cannot go into your uterus they only ever stay in the vagina as they dont fit through the cervix.

When you get the tampons they have instructions inside the box that show you how to use them. It might be a good idea to practice using them a month or two before Summer so that by the time you need to swim with them you are used to them. Most girls find them a bit tricky to use at first. Try them on a day you have a heavy flow as this will make it all slippery and should make it easier to insert them.
Well, in every box of tampons there is an instruction sheet, it has little pictures and will show you how to put it in, and answers alot of questions. So if your mom has them, there should be directions in them you could take a look at.

Also, tampons cannot get lost inside you and go into your uterus or float around.

If i were you i would get tampax pearl for light days (lavender colored). They are very smooth and small and would be good for practicing. Alot of girls will ruin several trying to get it right. (dont try the cardboard applicators, they hurt sometimes.)

Once you think its in, give it a few minutes, if you get back aches, or it hurts, it is probally just in a little crooked. Just pull it out and try again.

I think it took me a day or two to figure out how to get it right, and now dont even notice when it is in.

Good luck. And im sure your mom will be more then happy to explain and help too.
If a tampon is in correctly is not not hurt, in fact you should not be able to feel it. A tampon goes into the vagina, not the uterus, There is no way that a tampon can go any higher than the vagina. Your cervix is at the top of your vagina and is closed. Every tampon box comes with instructions and pictures. Start with the smallest size tampon and be sure to get one with a plastic applicator.
no it doesn't hurt if you get it in all the way correctly you don't even feel it and no it cant' go up into your uterus. when buying i'd go for the sport tampons since you will be using them for a sport and also i'd start a couple of months ahead of time to get used to wearing them. start off with the smallest size you can and there are pictures on the box to help guide you through insertion the most important thing to remember is to relax.
well it shouldnt hurt unless u insert it wrong so just follow the directions on the box or ask ur mom how to insert it...... so u should try using light ones or regular ones unless u have a heavy period.... NO it can not go in ur uterus or n e where else it stay inside.... so dnt be scared that it will get lost.... good luck...
It doesn't hurt!!

It is not able to go into your vagina, the walls of your vagina wont let it.

Push the big half in and push the small half into the big half and pull both of the plastic parts out!! And your done!

Aim towards the middle of your back :)

Good luck to you!
It can't go up in there because there's like an opening and it narrows down then it comes to your uterus. I haven't started yet but I know it shouldn't hurt if used right. Start with like a junior or small size.
