Best thing to do is let it role. If the feeling is mutual you'll find out soon and then neither of you get in awkward situations. Last thing you want is to spoil the friendship by being too quick. If best mates become lovers and the relationship works it is mostly a lot stronger than a relationship started on sheer infatuation. The fact that you probably know each other a lot better than most people do when they start a relationship gives you better chances to be compatible and at least have established communication, the most important quality within a relationship.


On the other hand, if it doesn't work you might feel uncomfortable in a pure friendship, however , a true friend will never turn his/her back. If he does he wasn't your close friend in the first place.


Good luck, and if he is your soulmate, you don't have to worry, he will know too and the moment will come suitable to consume deeper emotions.
well i got to say it seems funny normally it the other way around i would really just not move fast but start doing like more dating type stuff you no go to the movies if he seems cool make a move nothing big that could push him away... but i think it is going to be easy as long as you don't try to rush things and just roll at a steady speed
normally your screwed if this happens.. he will probably cherish your friendship more than you 2 being together cause itd be awkward for him ^^


other than that just do what youd normally do i guess.. if he only likes you as a friend then of course you will have to make the first move ;)
